University of Transport Technology Visits SCE

On the morning of June 12, a delegation from the University of Transport Technology (UTT), Vietnam, led by President Hoang Long Nguyen, visited Southeast University for exchanges and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Attending the signing ceremony were Ms. Jian Xu, Deputy Director of the SEU International Cooperation Office; Mr. Dinghua Tang, Deputy Party Secretary (Presiding) of the School of Civil Engineering; Professor Tianyu Xie; and Associate Professor Zhenyu Chen. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Tianyu Xie.

Deputy Director Jian Xu extended a warm welcome to the UTT delegation, introduced SEU, and highlighted the broad prospects for collaboration between the two institutions, specifically mentioning the university's extensive experience in educating Vietnamese students over the years. Mr. Dinghua Tang provided an overview of the school's disciplinary development, faculty, research, and international cooperation. He noted the significant potential for cooperation between the two schools, given Vietnam's important role in the Belt and Road Initiative and the country's current needs in infrastructure development.

President Hoang Long Nguyen expressed gratitude for the warm reception and briefly introduced UTT. He stated that SEU, as a comprehensive university with a long history and strong academic disciplines, holds extensive international influence, with its civil engineering program being world-leading. He noted that this expertise is precisely the technological foundation urgently needed for Vietnam's new infrastructure construction and expressed anticipation for in-depth future cooperation between the two sides.

The two parties jointly signed an MoU, under which they will collaborate in areas such as talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research. Following the signing ceremony, President Nguyen and his delegation toured the Tang Zhongying Seismic Resistance and Disaster Prevention Experimental Platform, the Seismic Science Popularization Base, and the Intelligent Construction Laboratory at the School of Civil Engineering.
