On the afternoon of May 13, Mr. Jun Kan, President of the Southeast University (SEU) Hong Kong Alumni Association, visited the School of Civil Engineering for an exchange seminar. The meeting was attended by Professor Tao Ma, Dean of the School of Transportation; Professor Tong Guo, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering; Professor Wenming Zhang, Assistant Dean of the School of Civil Engineering; and faculty representatives including Zhao Liu, Haohui Xin, Dongming Feng, Nini Xia, and Shitong Hou. The seminar was chaired by Professor Wenming Zhang.
Mr. Zhenhua Rui, Deputy Director of the SEU Alumni Association and Fund Affairs Office, extended a warm welcome to President Kan on behalf of the university. He expressed sincere gratitude for Mr. Kan's long-term efforts in actively promoting SEU in Hong Kong and expressed hope for his continued support in the university's future development.
Dean Tong Guo welcomed President Kan, highlighting the extensive alumni resources and significant influence of SEU's civil engineering discipline in Hong Kong. He noted the fruitful outcomes of the university's visit to Hong Kong in April. Dean Tao Ma emphasized the shared origins and complementary strengths of transportation and civil engineering disciplines in the new era. Both deans expressed optimism about leveraging Hong Kong as a strategic hub to enhance international cooperation and exchanges.

President Jun Kan shared his deep feelings upon returning to his alma mater and expressed deep gratitude for his education at SEU. He fondly recalled his academic experiences and shared insights from his career. Mr. Kan affirmed that the Hong Kong Alumni Association would continue to maintain close ties with SEU, serving as a bridge in Hong Kong, uniting more alumni, and contributing to the university's growth.
The meeting also featured discussions on industry practices and development trends. Following the seminar, President Kan delivered an insightful academiclecture to faculty and students titled "Green and Intelligent Construction of the Tseung Kwan O Cross-Bay Bridge."
