To further international collaboration, a delegation from the School of Civil Engineering, led by Party Secretary Liu Jing and including Academician Su Zhiqiang, Associate Dean Li Dezhi, and Assistant Dean Cai Jianguo, recently visited Singapore for discussions with National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Arup, China Construction (Nanyang) Development Co., Ltd., China Jingye Engineering Corporation (Singapore Branch), and Southeast University Singapore Alumni Association.
The delegation met with Professor Richard Liew Jat Yuen (Singapore Academy of Engineering Fellow and Head of NUS Civil and Environmental Engineering) and Professor Chu Jian (Singapore Academy of Engineering Fellow and Dean of NTU Civil and Environmental Engineering). Both sides introduced their respective institutional profiles and recent developments, reviewed collaborative achievements since signing the "3+1+1" student joint training agreement in 2020, and expanded the agreement to include joint PhD supervision, creating new pathways for international graduate education. They also reached consensus on faculty exchanges and joint research projects in areas such as AI+, extreme-environment construction, and marine engineering. During the visit, NTU Associate President Professor Yang Yaowen met with the delegation, and discussions were held with alumni and students enrolled in joint programs.
