On April 12th, a delegation of 12 Belarusian educators visited our university. Accompanied by teacher Xu Xuejun and student volunteers from the College of Overseas Education, they toured the Tang Zhongying Seismic Disaster Prevention Experimental Platform and the Smart Civil Engineering and Seismic Disaster Prevention Science Popularization Base. Our faculty members, Mr. Lin Yuanzheng and Mr. Guo Hengning, warmly received the delegation.
Mr. Lin Yuanzheng, from the Science Popularization Base, provided a detailed introduction to the large-scale earthquake simulation vibration platform, explaining its crucial role in supporting scientific research and engineering verification of seismic performance in various large-scale engineering structures such as high-rise buildings, long-span space structures, hydraulic dams, long-span bridges, and offshore platforms. The delegation then visited the earthquake perception hall, structural seismic hall, and scientific disaster prevention hall, gaining in-depth understanding of the causes, effects, and scientific measures for disaster prevention and mitigation related to earthquake disasters.

This exchange provided Belarusian educators with experiences in science popularization education and knowledge about earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation. It also strengthened the collaboration between the two universities in the fields of education and research. Through this learning and exchange opportunity, both sides hope to establish more cooperation and development opportunities in the future.
