On December 28, 2023, at the invitation of the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Transportation, Leong Hien Poh, Deputy Dean of the NUS School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore, visited and exchanged information. During the visit, Dean Poh had a series of discussions with relevant teachers such as Yao Yiming, Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Xu Chengcheng, Assistant Dean of the School of Transportation, Dong Qiaoqiao, Assistant director of the School of Civil Engineering and Zhong Rui, and held exchanges on international project cooperation, joint training of innovative talents, and future academic cooperation.
On the morning of December 28, Dean Poh discussed with the teachers in charge of the project of the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Transportation on the promotion of the NUS 3+1+1 Master Project currently being implemented, summarized the project experience, exchanged work opinions, and made plans for the next cycle of project cooperation.

On the afternoon of December 28, Dean Poh gave a live lecture and introduction of NUS 3+1+1 Master Program for relevant students of both houses, and answered the questions concerned by students. Subsequently, under the chairing of Teacher Zhong Rui, Dean Poh made an academic report entitled Localizing gradient damage enhancement and its simple implementation in ABAQUS. And carried out a warm discussion and exchange with the teachers and students present.
The School of Civil Engineering always adheres to the education concept of students first, attaches importance to the cultivation of international talents and in-depth cooperation with world-class universities. Since the NUS 3+1+1 Master Project was jointly launched by Southeast University's School of Transportation, School of Civil Engineering and NUS School of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2020, it has been continuously developed through a combination of online and offline, and fully restored offline from 2023. The program has been well received by students of both houses, with active enrollment, and graduates go on to study for doctoral degrees in world-class universities or work in leading enterprises. This project has become one of the important measures for the training of high-level international talents in our institute.
