From December 1 to December 3, the 4th International Engineering Mechanics Competition for University Students (Asia) was held in Jiangning Campus of Hohai University. Nearly 600 players from 65 universities in Asia, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University and Tongji University, participated in the competition. Our school selected 12 students, including Xu Zinan, Lu Tianheng, Wang Yubao, Bao Xinyu, Huang Xiangbo, Wang Zhengxu, Zhou Xuancheng, Jia Wei, Guo Yi, Yu Feiyu, Liu Yiwen and Wang Tongxi, to participate in the competition. Jiang Yijun, Gu Chengjun and Wang Wenjie were the instructors. In the individual competition won 4 special prizes, 7 first prizes, 1 second prizes, and won the group special prizes; Won one grand prize, one first prize and two second prizes in the team competition.
This competition is divided into individual competition and team competition, the competition questions are in English, and the English answer is required. The test paper was commissioned by the organizing committee of the International College Students Engineering Mechanics Competition to write the question by Belarus Jiaotong University, and sent a special person to carry it to China, and opened it in the examination room. The marking and grading of the papers were carried out under the strict supervision of Belarusian experts.
On December 3, the individual competition was held first. All the 12 students of our school won prizes. Among them, 4 students, including Xu Zinan, Wang Yubao, Wang Zhengxu and Wang Tongxi, won the special prize; 7 students, including Lu Tianheng, Bao Xinyu, Huang Xiangbo, Zhou Xuancheng, Jia Wei, Yu Feiyu and Liu Yiwen, won the first prize; 1 student, Guo Yi, won the second prize and the group special prize. At the same time, he obtained the qualification for the 2024 International University Engineering Mechanics Competition. The team competition was held on December 3, in which 12 students were divided into 4 teams. The team of Xu Zinan, Lu Tianheng and Zhou Xuancheng won the special prize; the team of Yu Feiyu, Liu Yiwen and Wang Tongxi won the first prize; the team of Wang Yubao, Bao Xinyu, Huang Xiangbo and the team of Wang Zhengxu, Jia Wei and Guo Yi won the second prize, which fully demonstrated the ability of unity and cooperation among Dongyu students.
The International Engineering Mechanics Contest was jointly launched by many universities of the Russian Federation in 2005, and has been held for 17 consecutive years, attracting universities from Europe, America, Asia and other countries to join. It has a wide and far-reaching influence in the international mechanics society. This competition is an internationally recognized high difficulty theory competition in mechanics curriculum. The test questions of the competition are full of innovation and challenges, requiring profound theoretical knowledge and a solid mathematical foundation.
